Electing to bat on a sunny
day at Northleach, the
Chedworth openers Darryl
Drinkwater and Kim Watson
got off to a flying start
with 42 runs coming off the
first 8 overs and Watson
displaying some magnificent
shots in his 31 off 23
deliveries. He fell to an
excellent catch by

Australian Jordan Blackmore,
which started a drought of
runs for the visitors.
Ex-captain Glen Crompton
ensured that no batsman was
allowed to settle, taking
4-25 off 10 overs. The 2
young Chris's (Heaps and
Miles) put up a defiant
stand of 17 off the last 4
overs taking Chedworth into
3 figures at 116 for 8.
Northleach never looked in
trouble with Blackmore and
Crompton smashing 19
boundaries in a 108 run
partnership off 17 overs. It
took 15 year old Chris Miles
to part them, claiming 2
wickets in 4 balls of his 3
over and once again giving
Chedworth some sort of
respectability. However,
things were too late for
Chedworth and Northleach
romped home with 8 wickets
in hand and 21.1 overs to
spare.
