 Northleach
welcomed Charlton to The Arena on saturday and amassed
another large home score, with debutant Adam Tarrant
making a classy century with outstanding strokeplay and
subtle use of the fast outfield. The Charlton bowlers
persisted in the heat, with Jack Roberts (3 for 70) and
Rich Witchell (3 for 65) achieving the best returns, but
support knocks from Dickie Hemming (44) and Captain Tony
Gardner (23) saw the home side reach 261 all out in 37
overs. The Charlton reply never got going with Andy
Wellman (4 for 21) and Dan Binding (3 for 17) bowling
with pace and accuracy to demolish the batting, with
Richard Hall again proving his worth in the covers with
2 stunning catches. Another maximum points return for
The Rams, who travel to Cirencester next week looking to
maintain their early season form.
