Northleach Town CC XI v WJ Castle Select XI - 11th September 2005

The penultimate game of Northleach Town CC season saw them entertain a sponsor team in a time game on a very damp Sunday afternoon.

With  Northleach Town CC XI batting first they struggled with the pace and movement of Ben and Harry
Whitworth. With the sponsors guest captain Northleach player T Gardner giving all his players a bowl, they had Northleach looking down and out on 74-5. A great come back saw Northleach finish up on 266-8 with  M Larner  making a fine 74 not out and  S Goodall making 36. This was all ways going to be a daunting task for the sponsors team and a draw would be there best bet. With Young Jack Stevens staying at the crease for 75 mins for his 7 runs he helped the sponsors  finish up on 170 -4 ,  with  T Gardner making  65, smashing 12 fours and one six of his team-mates. G Harris 34 no and C Whitworth 20 no helped  the sponsors to a well-deserved draw.
