The Rissi captain elected to field first on a very
hot day at the Northleach Arena, and saw the home
opening partnership put 171 runs on the board within
26 overs until the fall of the first wicket. Both
Jordan Blackmore (90) and Glen Crompton (109) were
in fine form as they struck boundaries and took
singles at ease. Mark Larner (36) continued the
momentum as the Rams built a large score of 276 for
6 within their allotted overs, with John Robson
falling to a first-baller from Brian Brain against
his former club!
The Rissi reply started well with young Charlie
Garratt striking the ball well, but the rest of
the batting line-up failed to perform against a
withering display of fast bowling from Flammy
Wellman. The total of 121 all out reflected the
excellent display of bowling and fielding from the
home side, with Richard Blundell and Captain Dickie
Hemming both taking 4 wickets.
