In a close match Northleach 2nd XI came up 11 runs short in a narrow defeat to table topping South Hill. Deciding to bat first South Hill made 174-9 in their forty overs. This was due to a 100 run partnership between N Voaden (54) and N Dodd's (72). With the score on 116-1 T Gardner came back for his second spell and bowled both batsman in consecutive overs, then took a other two quick wickets to finish with 5-23.D Binding supported him at the other end with 3-30. Northleach got of to a slow put positive start, but lost Harris (19) with the score on 40.Oseman joined T Gardner and they added fifty runs before Oseman was caught and bowled by Voaden for 25.With the score on 125 -4, T Gardner was unlucky and played on for 49.C Smith (27) and Robson (8no) took the Northleach score to 163-9 falling just short. This was a great effort by Northleach and hope to finish the season on a high with two matches to go.
