Location: Northleach is a small market town
within the Cotswolds area of
Gloucestershire, on the main route from Cheltenham (10 miles)
to
Oxford (17 miles).
Cricket: We are currently playing in the
Cotswold District League Division 1, having been promoted last
season. The past 8 seasons have seen the club grow from playing only
Sunday friendly matches into one playing Saturday league games and
with a full friendly fixture list as well! We have a strong base of
players, and have an active youth development programme to ensure
that we do not stagnate.
We have set ourselves some stiff
targets for the past 5 years, focused on improving the standard of
cricket and the facility itself. Our next major challenge is to
consolidate within Div. 1 and look for further promotion into the
County league within the next 2 seasons.
We also undertake an annual tour,
normally in September, to warmer shores: last year was Benidorm
(Spain), this year will be the Spanish island of Ibiza.
Next
year - who knows?
Role: Northleach Town CC is looking for a
talented and consistent high-scoring batsman to bat in the top 3.
The ability to bowl a variety of pace or spin would also be greatly
appreciated. We would also ask the chosen player to assist with
youth coaching and enhancing our already strong links within the
local community.
